The Wounded Healer

My name is Ingrid Jones, but around here, Beauty feels just as natural.
My life has moved through many worlds — music and media, military service, family and community, social work and education. For a long time, those experiences seemed like separate chapters. Over time, I began to understand that they were teaching me different things about the same subject: people.
How we become who we are. What shapes what we believe. How families and communities influence us. What happens when people are wounded. What becomes possible when they are given room to heal, learn, question, and grow.
iDivine Beauty grew from that understanding — and from a desire to help create for others some of what I wished had existed when I needed it most.
I don't approach this work as someone standing outside of life explaining it. I approach it as someone who has lived, questioned, stumbled, learned, rebuilt, and continues to do so.
That is what I mean when I call myself a Wounded Healer.

THE WOUNDED HEALER

Some lessons are learned because we needed them ourselves.

I learned early that people are complicated.

So are families. So are communities. So are the systems we build around them.

My own life has included instability, loss, trauma, disappointment, mistakes, forgiveness, rebuilding, and grace. Those experiences did not make me an expert on everyone else's life. They did, however, leave me deeply curious about why people become who they become — and what helps us become something more.

That curiosity has followed me everywhere.

It shaped the way I listened to music and studied culture. The way I understood service and leadership. The way I entered social work. The way I thought about family, faith, relationships, education, and community.

Over time, I stopped seeing my wounds only as things that had happened to me. They also became places from which I could recognize pain, ask better questions, extend compassion, and imagine what healing might require.

The Wounded Healer is not someone who has finished healing.

It is someone willing to let what they have lived deepen how they love, learn, serve, and build.

EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED

What looked like separate chapters was forming a single perspective.

For years, my interests and experiences seemed to belong in different rooms.

Music and media taught me to pay attention to culture — to the stories we tell, the images we consume, the voices we amplify, and the ways art can both reflect and shape a community.

Military service taught me about discipline, leadership, systems, responsibility, service, and what it means to be part of something larger than myself.

Family and community taught me that what happens between people matters. Our relationships, traditions, wounds, choices, and responsibilities do not remain isolated; they ripple outward.

Social work and education gave me frameworks for understanding many of the questions I had been asking all along — about people, behavior, families, institutions, healing, development, and change.

Eventually, I understood:

These were never separate interests.

They were different ways of studying the same thing — how people are shaped, how communities are built, and how both can become stronger.

That realization became one of the central ideas behind iDivine Beauty:

Understanding is valuable. What we build from it matters more.

Today, I bring these experiences together through iDivine Beauty — creating conversations, educational resources, and community-centered work designed to help people think more deeply and build more intentionally.

My background includes service in the United States Air Force, work across music and media, and professional experience in social work and education. Each has expanded the way I understand people, leadership, systems, culture, and community.

But iDivine Beauty is not simply a collection of everything I have done.

It is what I am choosing to build with what I have learned.

A place where ideas can be challenged without abandoning curiosity. Where different perspectives can be explored without requiring agreement. Where reflection is expected to lead somewhere.
